I build robots.

I am Mesut, a robotics engineer focused on quadruped and humanoid robots. I work on the whole machine rather than one slice of it: control software, mechanical design, simulation and reinforcement learning.

Right now I am building Xentaur, a hybrid lower body quadruped and upper body humanoid robot.

Before that I spent three years at STMicroelectronics as a Senior Automation Engineer, developing software applications, hardware designs and IoT devices for the production floor, and leading automation projects end to end.

The main build at Xentaur. A platform that can switch between four legged stability and a bipedal humanoid stance, developed from CAD and actuator selection through to locomotion control and simulation. Ongoing work, more soon.

Applied reinforcement learning and navigation stacks to a Unitree G1 humanoid, deployed on the physical robot to carry out specific task sequences rather than staying in simulation.

Robotic arm with vision language model object grounding

Robotic Arm: Vision Language Grounding

A perception system combining CLIP and SAM for object grounding and segmentation on a robotic arm, with spaCy parsing natural language commands. Say "pick the screwdriver" or "take the controller from the table" and the arm resolves it to a real object in the scene.

Humanoid Robotic Hand

Built on the open source DexHand design: 3D printed the full hand, assembled it with servo actuators, then wrote a computer vision layer that tracks a human hand through a camera and mirrors the gestures on the robot in real time. A base platform for future manipulation work.

Industrial IoT Smart Watch

A wearable that gives factory operators two way communication with machines and robots on the line. ESP32 with a display, LiPo power, vibration alerts and ESD safe straps, in a housing I designed and printed. Backed by a 16 slot charging cabinet and a Raspberry Pi station that assigns devices by NFC employee badge, with five background services handling messaging and allocation.
